Funny Face! Kool-Aid's Former Arch Rival
Most of us have fond memories of drinking Kool-Aid on a hot summer day but do you remember that back in the 60’s and 70’s they was another player in the instant drink mix game. It was called Funny Face.
Introduced in 1964, Funny Face was originally made and sold by the Pillsbury Company and had packaging with a cartoon character for each flavor. I remember commercials featuring Goofy Grape, Freckle-Face Strawberry and the gang scattered throughout my very important Saturday Morning Cartoons. What I also remember where the promotional cups that you could buy from the ads featured on the back of the packets. These hard plastic mugs were built to last and also came with a pitcher. These are still out there and I occasionally see them at antiques stores.
